Which personality is your investor idol? And why?
I'll start by mentioning a person who may not be mentioned often here. That's Howard Marks. What I admire about him is his ability to explain complex problems simply. Howard Marks puts a lot of emphasis on the psychological side of investing and its huge influence on market events. He also talks about the importance of understanding market cycles, which can give us a huge advantage over other investors.
Howard Marks is great, I like his open-minded approach to new technologies. He often mentions how he learns from his son, with whom he invests. The memos he puts out are pure gold as are the letters from Buffett. I can only recommend his podcast https://www.oaktreecapital.com/insights/memo-podcast/. It was also one of the reasons I bought BAM/BN which Oaktree partly owns.
The podcasts are great. Warren Buffett himself is a big admirer of Marks.
I may not have a role model, but I admire Buffet and Munger. Of course, they're not the only ones. Graham, for example, was also excellent.
Maybe Buffett for what he has built in his lifetime and enough people in the world see him as one of the top elite... Even his advice has a head and heel for people who are starting to invest and if you follow it, who knows maybe you can achieve what Buffett did... 🤔 😁 😁 Otherwise, I don't have an investor that I would follow or that I would do something according to him. I try to keep my head going after what I think is good especially in my opinion and that way even if you get burned sometimes, it's still the best school.
