Toyota and Panasonic will form a subsidiary dedicated to battery production.

Toyota Motor announced an agreement with Panasonic Holdings to convert one of their joint ventures , Primearth EV Energy Co.into a wholly owned subsidiary. The move is aimed at strengthening Toyota's battery production for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, complementing its current battery production for gasoline hybrid vehicles. The acquisition is expected to take place at the end of March.
